This 11 days Best of Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari with Eco Uganda Safari will take you to Uganda’s finest National Parks including Bwindi – home of Gorillas, Kibale – home of chimpanzees, Queen Elizabeth Park, Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary as well as Lake Mburo. It will include: spending quality time with Chimpanzee, Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, other primate watching, game drives, birding and boat rides.
Detailed Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival, transfer to Kampala
Once you arrive at Entebbe Airport, our delegate from Appetite for Adventure will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Kampala city where you will dine and spend the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast at the hotel, our guide will transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park, and there you will reach in the afternoon.
This wildlife park is best known as home to the highest number and diversity of Primates in the whole of East Africa such as chimpanzees, baboons, colobus monkeys as well as L’Hoest monkeys. You will make a couple of stopovers along the way including one at the equator.
On arrival you will check into your accommodation where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature Walk
Today you will have breakfast very early in the morning and then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking activity before heading into the forest. Kibale National Park is home to 13 different primate species so you will encounter a number of these including: the Baboons, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black & White Colobus Monkeys, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Blue Monkeys and the Red Colobus Monkeys. When you find the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them watching them play, feed and even get an opportunity to record a video or take photographs.
You will return for lunch at you accommodation after which you will set out into the Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk. This swamp is home to a great diversity of wildlife including several animals like the sitatunga (the largest antelope species) as well as several bird species. You will dine and spend the night at your accommodation.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will begin on a 3 to 4 hours drive as you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited national park. Once in the park you will transfer to your accommodation where you will have your lunch. In the afternoon you will have a game drive during which you will see several animals such as different antelope species, elephants, lions and different birds.
Later return for dinner and the overnight at you accommodation

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Kazinga Boat ride
In the morning you will head to the Kyambura Gorge to trek Chimpanzees. While in the forest you will encounter a number of other wild animals. You will be allowed an hour after finding the chimpanzees to observe them and take photos as well as record videos.
After lunch you will have a boat ride on the wildlife swarmed Kazinga Channel during which you will see hundreds and hundreds of hippos, crocodiles plus various birds.
In the evening you will return o your accommodation for dinner and the overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi home of the Gorillas
After breakfast you will begin on the four hours’ drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park the home of the mountain gorillas. In the afternoon there will be an optional nature walk to the Munyaga waterfalls found inside Bwindi Park. Dine and spend the night at your preferred accommodation.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience
After breakfast you will set out for one of the most interesting activities on this 7 days safari. You will head to the headquarters of the park where you will be briefed about the rules of gorilla trekking, and also assigned guides by the park warden.
Clad in hiking boots, rain jacket, walking sticks, as well as a packed lunch and drinking water you will hike through the forest looking for the gorillas for a couple of hours. The duration of the trek takes between 2-6 hours based on the gorilla’s movements. Once you find them you will be allowed to spend an hour in their midst taking photos, record videos and observing them feed, play and cater for one another; the sheer size of the silverback which can grow up 350 pounds will stun you.
In the afternoon, there will be an optional Batwa Cultural Experience that will include entertainment by the locals (music dance and drama), learning about their traditional methods of survival and personal interaction with them. You will also visit a number of their local projects, craft shops and schools.
Head back for dinner and the night’s rest at your lodge
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Today right after breakfast you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and drive through Kabale – also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ a beautiful town with marvelously terraced farms on its green hills.
This Lake Mburo National Park which is an extension of the large plains of Tanzania is home to different animals such as the giant Elands, Zebras and Impalas along with a variety of birds. Once in the park you will check-into your accommodation where you will have lunch and in the afternoon go for an optional boat ride in the lake, or opt to remain at your accommodation resting

Day 9: Morning Game drive, transfer to Entebbe
Early morning you will have a quick breakfast check-out of your accommodation and then go for a game drive. Afterwards, you will start the drive to Entebbe have an en-route lunch and making a couple of stopovers along the way to take photos and visit other sites.
Once In Entebbe you will check into your preferred hotel where you will dine and spend the night.

Day 10: Visit the Chimpanzees on Ngamba Island
In the morning you will enjoy an unrushed breakfast, and by 10am report at the dock-site where you will transfer by boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary a facility that was established to shelter orphaned and rescued chimpanzees.
Visitors’ hours begin at 11am to 8pm so once there you will spend the day with the chimps, feed them, observe them, and take several photos and even record videos.
You will return to the mainland and our driver will drive you back to your hotel for dinner and the overnight.
Day 11: Departure
Today will be the last day of this great Uganda safari. After breakfast, you will checkout of your hotel and then be transferred for your departure flight to Entebbe International Airport.
